Make the most of your workspace.

Simple guidance for managing resumes, analyzing job opportunities and preparing for the next step.

01

Getting started

Create an account with your email, verify the address, then sign in. Your dashboard will display applications, interview stages, tasks and recent activity.

For your first application, upload one master resume and create one job with its full description.

02

Resumes: upload, edit and export

Go to Resumes to upload a PDF, DOCX or TXT file (up to 5 MB). CareerPilot extracts readable text and stores it as an editable resume. You can also start from scratch and update individual resume content on mobile or desktop.

Text-based documents work best. Scanned PDFs may not extract. Exports use a professional ATS-readable one-column design: 11-point Helvetica in PDF, 11-point Arial in DOCX, 0.75-inch margins and conventional headings. PDF fonts in this version cannot represent every non-Latin character; use DOCX if PDF export reports unsupported characters. Always check the downloaded document for line breaks, dates and accuracy.

03

Save and manage a job

Select Applications → Add job. Enter the company, role, location, URL and job description. Import a supported public job-board URL (including accessible LinkedIn postings). If the board blocks access, use the optional Chrome/Edge CareerPilot browser extension to capture the posting you are viewing, or paste its description.

Download the CareerPilot extension ZIP (for Chrome or Edge only). See the step-by-step installation guide. Extract the ZIP and choose the inner browser-extension folder in Load unpacked. Open the LinkedIn posting and click Import this job. Review the role, company, location, and requirements before saving.

Update the status from Saved to Applied, Screening, Interview, Offer or Rejected. Add recruiter details and notes. Everything stays linked to that job.

04

ATS analysis and resume tailoring

Open a job, choose your master resume and run ATS analysis to assess requirements and gaps. Run Tailor resume to draft a job-specific version or Cover letter for an introduction.

Tailoring focuses on concrete accomplishments and language that sounds like the applicant, not repetitive marketing phrases. A separate AI review compares the tailored draft with the original resume, and an additional check rejects new unsupported numerical claims. This is not a guarantee against every invented detail: personally verify employers, titles, dates, credentials, skills and results. ATS assessments are estimates, never official screening results.

05

Interview preparation

Select Interview kit inside a job to get practice questions, STAR answer guidance and suggested questions for the hiring team. Under Mock interview, enter a question and your response to receive written coaching feedback.

06

Track actions and follow-ups

Add tasks to each job or the Tasks page. Mark items complete and review deadlines in your dashboard. Application status changes are captured in the activity history. You can download calendar events for dated tasks.

07

Account, security and appearance

Use email verification during registration. If you forget your password, select Forgot password on the login screen. Password-reset links expire and can only be used once. Account settings allow password changes and permanent deletion of account information.

Open Settings → Appearance in your workspace to choose System, Light, or Dark. System follows your device setting; a manual choice is saved in this browser. On public pages, use the moon/sun control in the navigation to switch quickly.

Common questions

Can employers see my activity?

No. Your private workspace is accessible only to your account. CareerPilot does not automatically apply for jobs or contact employers.

What if a job URL cannot be imported?

Many job boards render content with JavaScript or block automated requests. Use the browser extension while viewing the posting in Chrome or Edge, or paste the description manually. Access to LinkedIn public pages depends on LinkedIn's restrictions; no login bypass is attempted.

Does the tool guarantee a successful application?

No. AI suggestions can improve clarity and preparation but cannot guarantee interviews, offers, or ATS decisions.
